Picaboo

This is an amazing company for photo books!  The quality is great, price is more than most of the other sites, but when promotions are available they are amazing.

Try this link to see if you qualify for a free photo book.  Create an album for the grandkids to give to grandparents, one from a vacation, cookbook or spotlight a child.

I will try to post any deals I see, sometimes they offer a gift card for $100 to purchase for $25 on groupon.

Strawberry Shortcake Deal

Check this deal out that is on the blog She Saved.  Check with those that get the newspaper to see if they have coupons you can have.

Hasbro Coupons

Hasbro has printable coupons that you can use.  The coupons have a print limit and will become unavailable after reached.  Last year coupons were being added throughout the year.  Here is a highlight of some of them:
$4.00 Off one game Monopoly, Connect 4, Mousetrap or Battleship
$5.00 Off one Playskool explore and grow musical gear center
$5.00 Off one Iron Man 2 Rocket Boost Iron Man Toy
$5.00 Off one Rainbow Dash Plane or Mommy & Pony vehicle

Amazon

Amazon has a daily gold box, along with other items for a limited amount of time.  They will have deals all the time and as the demand goes up the price will go up.  You have to jump on a deal fast if you are interested.

Shipping is free if you spend $25 on eligible items, but right now they are offering the following, Amazon Mom.  Anyone that cares for a little one is eligible, that means, Mom, Dad, Grandparents, Aunts or Uncles.  By joining you will get 3 months (that gets you through December) free on 2 day Prime Shipping (eligible items).  On certain items in the Baby Department will be eligible for the Subscribe & Save (you can cancel the automatic shipment once the item is received) which will bring the price down 30%!   Make a $25 purchase from the Baby Department and your free membership will be extended a month.  I am not sure when this will not be available, I registered for it 2 weeks ago!

Amazon has an amazing clearance after Christmas in the toys!

Target

Target will price match (Walmart will also, but they do not offer an additional coupon) you must have the ad and it must be an exact match.  They will not price match items that are B1G1 or % off.  Price matching is a great benefit for stores that are having a great sale but will not have the item in stock.  This works great on items that we have a manufactures coupon and a Target web coupon.

Target Coupon Policy

"Coupons are a great way to save even more when shopping with us, and it's easy to use them at our stores.
* Target accepts one manufacturer coupon and one Target coupon for the same item (unless prohibited)
* Super Target coupons can be used in any Target store if the store carries the item
* We gladly accept valid Internet coupons
Because of the variety of coupons available to our guests, we do have some guidelines for how coupons can be redeemed at Target.

When accepting coupons, we use the following guidelines:
* We accept two kinds of coupons: Target-issued coupons and manufacturer-issued.
* We'll accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.
* Coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied.
* We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item.
* We can't accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried in our stores.
* All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier while you're checking out."

Target stores seem to follow this schedule for marking things down for clearance.  When we learn this schedule it helps to get the best deals off of clearance.

Monday -- Infants department, Kids clothing and Electronics
Tuesday -- Women's clothing, Domestics
Wednesday -- Men's clothing, Garden, Toys, Health and Beauty
Thursday -- Lingerie, Shoes, Housewares, Sporting Goods, Luggage
Friday -- Cosmetics, Hardware, Auto, Home Improvement and Jewelry

Steps to do before completing an online purchase

When I am about to make a purchase online I will go to the website and put the item in the shopping cart.  I don't want to take the time for the next steps if what I am purchasing is out of stock or not in the size needed..  Then I open a new window and go to Retail Me Not and search for the store.  When I locate the store it will pull up shared information about possible coupon codes that are active, that may help me save additional money or get free shipping.

Then I open an additional window and check the cash back sites.  Each cash back site has different promotions, stores will have a different percent back that I can earn and may have a code I haven't found yet.  Once I have located the best site I log in and enter back to the original website through the cash back site.  My item in the shopping cart is still there and I can complete the purchase using any codes I have located and have my purchased tracked for the cash back.

I am learning that there are some other cash back sites, I have only used the following ones.  I use more than one site because some stores are only on one site and the percent varies sometimes by 6%.

Shop at Home on the home page on the right hand side down a little ways they have a WILD deal that updates each day along with a deal of the day which is a featured store at a higher percent back.  This site will issue a check after your reward total is over $20.00, and the purchases have been long enough to avoid returns, this is usually 3 months after you are over $20.  Click here to join.
Cashbaq has stores listed right on there home page to quickly see what percent they are offering back.  It is easy to search for the stores to see the additional information.

Ebates has a Daily Double for a store to increase there percent back.  They do not have a set dollar amount to issue a check, but do have a waiting period to avoid returns.

City Deals

This is a site everyone should be using.  It is a great way to pick up gift certificates at a reduced price, and then match them with a coupon.  Check them often for promotions that they may run, and when they get a National Retailer in it goes fast!

Daily Deal Sites

Daily Deals seem to be easier to find because more are being offered.  I don't check these everyday, but if I have time in the morning I will.

Some local ones to check are:

KSL offers are for services to different businesses, located through out the state, at a reduced rate.  It does require a certain number of certificates to be sold to activate the deal.  These deals can sell out.

Daily Herald offers are for businesses primarily located in Utah County.  When a hot deal comes it goes fast!

National sites:
Groupon requires a certain number of certificates to sell to make the deal go.  My default is set for Salt Lake City, but I can look at deals in other major cities and purchase them.  This is great for gifts for family that is out of state.  This site does require an email to view the deals, use a different email account not your everyday one.

Woot has a big variety of items it puts one item up for sell for the day.  They have entertaining descriptions for the product.  Every once in a while they will do a woot off, which is in the 24 hour period as soon as an item sells out they will put up a new item.  There prices are competitive but they do charge for shipping.  It also has sister sites (Kids Woot, Sell out) that you can see on the right hand side for other deals.

Graveyard Mall has lots of odd and ends, and I never know what I can find there.  I have not been able to find a code for free shipping without having to spend a certain dollar amount.  When that is the case I will see if a family member wants to add to my order.  I have purchase light fixtures to stocking stuffer and Easter basket fillers from them.

There will be others out there, I personally like checking these for the variety and because I have been able to make a deal for something I will use.

Sites I Watch

I follow a variety of sites in addition to checking daily deals.

I check the following sites for local deals they also do the grocery coupons so this may not be for everyone:

Freebies2Deals

Utah Deal Diva

I also check Slick Deals for online deals.  This site posts the deals as they learn of them, and when it is a hot deal they add a little fire icon at the end.  If you are interested in the deal click on it and it will expand to give more details, and from there you can click into comments.  The comments often are thank yous for sharing the deal, but can also contain online codes that can or cannot be used at check out time.  At times I can also learn which cash back site is offering the highest percent back.  When the deal is no longer available it becomes gray, in case you were trying to decide to grab the deal.

Deal Catcher is another site similar to Slick Deals.  It also has a toolbar for Black Friday.

Swagbucks - Free Digital Money

Swagbucks is an online company that I use for a search engine (they use google!).  I have only used them for searching but it can be used for other things like shopping online, trade in games and cell phones.  The digital dollars you earn can then be used in their Swag store for merchandise or gift cards (Amazon, Target, Barnes and Noble and others).  They also reward you for referrals (invite your family and friends).

Check them out here

Ready to register?  Go here they will give you 30 Swagbucks to get started.  After you are registered download the toolbar to make searching easier!

Not sure check out the FAQ page.

There are other sites that are similar to Swagbucks.

Clearance Sales

Check Clearance FIRST and check OFTEN.  Those two steps are the key to making a deal.  If you have ten minutes and are driving by a store you frequent stop and go in just to check the clearance items.  If you need Holiday Decorations wait till after the Holiday.  Holiday discounts, except for Christmas, generally follow the is 3-3-2 rule.

The first 3 days after the holiday are 50% off.
The next 3 days are 75% off.
The next 2 days are 90%.

You have to find your comfort zone for how long you can wait and what price you are willing to pay.

Shop with a Purpose

There is always a great deal, you will not be able to make them all.  Don't get overwhelmed.  I suggest you keep a list of who you need to buy for, this could be a list for Christmas, Birthday or other reasons.  Also keep a list of what you need for certain people for example Son #1 needs pants and socks, while Son #2 needs a Church Shirt.  You can use Shop it to Me when you set up your profile you can specify what you are looking for and what size.  It will then email (you determine the frequency) what is on sale that matches your criteria.   This does take time to set up your preferences but can be a benefit in finding that Church Shirt for Son #2.

The lists will keep you focused on what is needed and what to be looking ahead for and help eliminate unnecessary purchases.  Just because it is a good deal doesn't mean it is a good deal for you!
